Hello, my friends!
This one has been a long time coming, and I hope you’re ready for an update. (It’s Catherine Greer writing to you, author of The Bittersweet Bakery Cafe. You’re receiving this note because you signed up for my newsletter — which I had been writing weekly for around 8 years! Then I took a break at the beginning of October, and now I’m checking in.)
How are you? (How are you really??)
How’s your heart doing? Your body and health? The people you love? Are all the plates spinning (mostly)? I hope so!
I’ve been working long days in corporate Australia, and have thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas holidays. Now we’re heading off for a short family vacation, and then we’ll be right back into all of it: the 5:30am wake ups, the commute and 12 hour days, the juggling of a corporate career with some writing.
So many of you have written to say you’ve missed the weekly updates, or that you loved my 2025 novel, The Bittersweet Bakery Cafe. Thank you! I read all your emails and reviews and notes and I treasure them ALL.
You might have wondered about my plan in 2026:
More weekly newsletters?
Another novel?
Where have I gone on social media??
The answer to all of this is that I’m just not sure yet.
Here’s the truth: I was wayyyyyy more ‘Catherine The Tired’ than ‘Catherine The Inspirational’ this year, and I still need a little time to figure out my next steps.
I have a manuscript in the works and I’ve been writing sporadically.
I have a big corporate year ahead of me. I’m not sure if I’m going to return to weekly newsletters.
And my social media…well, it got less fun for me, and I wanted to take a break.
I want to take more time for this:
THANK YOU for being here. I’ll let you know my plans when I’m sure of them, and until then, I hope you have the best and brightest start to 2026.
Happy New Year!
Love, Catherine x
