Fun Things Lately

Hello, my friends!

If you’re new this week, I’m waving at you from Sydney, Australia. I’m Catherine Greer, and it’s likely you’ve found me through my new novel, The Bittersweet Bakery Cafe. Thank you for opening your inbox to my weekly inspo!

On Friday I snuck away to one of my favourite places to write, and I know this will sound odd because it’s not a groovy cafe in my suburb.

For some reason, I LOVE writing at a corner table in the IKEA restaurant.

I know. It’s so random!! But there’s something about IKEA that reminds me of being a young mum; it holds a special vibe of hope and solving problems simply. I find the idea of IKEA incredibly soothing…this handy little container / these pretty, affordable water glasses / this refillable coffee will give you peace and rest, Catherine.

When I’m lucky with space and time and freedom, I go there to write. (If you see me, come say hi.) I think the only person who knows about my IKEA writing obsession is my mother.

This week, sitting in IKEA and dreaming up a new book, I thought of a question I wanted to ask everyone here:

Do you have a place that lifts your spirits when you go there?

Think about it now, just for a second. Is it possible for you to visit soon, and get the good vibes you need from the outside, in?

I hope so.

And ohhhhh, I’d love to hear your answers. I’d love to know the space, for you, that makes you feel calm and hopeful.

It’s the little glimmers that make life grand.

I hope you have space and time to enjoy today—and I hope something beautiful happens to you.

Love, Catherine x
